From just a quick glance, the only things that are jumping out at me are the prices for the brakes... I think I spent only about 60-65 USD on my handbrake pads (Jaguar equivalents, but the AM parts can't be THAT much). Same with the rear pads... those are obscene prices.

EDIT: I'm considering the pricing from a V8V point of view. It'd help if we know the details of your car.

That was just supplied. I was getting 2-piece rotors fitted so there was no extra charge for popping in the new handbrake pads.

they have reduced the handbrake pads to £244 GBP - i can find the pads for £60 GBP, how much should labour cost be? Is it a big job? How do you change them, is it a DIY job?

It's pretty easy to do. If I remember correctly:

Get the rear of the car off the ground
Remove the rear wheels
Remove the two retaining pins that hold the pads in the caliper
Pull out the old pads, put in the new ones
Reassemble

Diagram for reference:

Those prices are not bad for a UK Aston dealer
You've got to remember they can only use factory approved parts, have a nice showroom to pay for and charge around £120/hr
If you want to get the cost down find a good independent close to you (pistonheads has a good UK list) and buy tyres etc yourself
Tyres can be had for £50 less each, I'd also recommend changing from RE050s to Pilot Super Sports

Btw replacing hand brake pads is not as simple as telum says, that is how to do the rear brake pads
High west on handbrake pads can be bad adjustment common) rear pads maybe the traction control intervening with out the light coming on (more common than you might think) I killed a set of rest pads in 15k miles this way

On an 07 ASM1 car it's very worthwhile doing 3-4 clutch learns in succession, especially if you've never done them

Hadn't heard of this being an issue before, guess I should get mine double-checked! Thanks for the insight
