When you order the side sills from AM, does it come painted thru the factory? I heard that they go thru a local body shop for parts like this, get it painted and installed, then sell the car. Was not sure if that is true or not.
With the used car market, some don't have the side sills. How much for the N400 side sills and can a body shop match a color like lightning silver?

I believe they all come unpainted so you would have to color match at your local body/paint shop. I went with the v12 sills for mine and it was just under $3k for parts, paint, and install. My paint is black so maybe easier to match than lightning silver. Good luck!

So none of the AM cars you see sitting at the dealer that has the side skirts are AM factory painted? So what do they do? Paint the car, ship it to the dealer, then the dealer has to take the car to a local shop and get the sillls painted and installed, THEN send it back to the dealer to sell?

If you buy a used car and want to change it (like putting on different side skirts), then you have to order the parts and have them paint matched and installed.
You're specifically asking about putting N400 side skirts on a non-N400 car. That means you'll have to order the parts and have them painted and installed.

I added N400 sills after.

The OE bits will cost you $500-700 each side. Most of the high end body shop can match the paint, but I would suggest to use the AM authorized body shop for the job.

Nice mod but I decided I liked my old-school wrap-around sills better. After talking to one of the original designers, he agreed
The form stays more pure that way.

Any good shop can match the paint and do the install. I work at a large Ford dealer, our body shop took care of two of my friends, one installing N400 sills and another installing V12 sills, both were '06 Vantage models. We painted and buffed them off of the car, then installed them afterwards. Don't let the fact that it's an Aston scare you.

V8S has the V12 sills.
I can't even begin to put the words together to explain the difference between n400 and v12 sills. It's a visual thing, I guess.
