Where is your go to place to get oil filters and necessary parts? (other than the dealer of course) It's been over a year and a half

10k miles or once a year. Sooner if driving in off-road / dusty conditions.

Technically, if you drive under 10k miles a year, do you still have to take it in? Say you drive 5k or less a year.

I see on the oil change we remove the two metal mesh filters as part of the job replace the o ring and once clean refit?
I took mine out, they were clean, (eaten in dirtier restaurants in Africa)

I got in the Oil Change kit from AM a bolt that goes into the engine further back and has a rubber sealing ring as well as a new copper washer is it nesassary to pull that when you have removed the old oil as well as cleaned mesh filters and replaced the oil filter?

Then if anyone who know's?? (Telum? Karl?) say one drives only 3000 Miles per year and you pull the oil is there merit in replacing the oil filter? considering that some guys do almost or even more than 10 000 miles per year on the same filter?

Try these threads . info on other makes of oil filter etc .
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...n-filters.html

My Vantage had a Bosch filter on it when I did the oil change . It now has a Fram and I have a AM filter on the shelf for next time . Seeing As I will only be doing limited fair weather driving I will just be using the Fram filters once the AM filter is used . I will be changing the oil yearly but I may try the Redline oil next year as its so much cheaper than the Castrol Liquid Gold .

FWIW I can buy a 5 gal pail of Redline for the same price as the required quantity of 1 oil change of Castrol Liquid Gold .

I go with what the manufacturer recommends. I think the main reason to change oil is because the additives get depleted. Now with that said, some manufacturers, such as Porsche, RECOMMEND, changing the filter at every other Oil Change, and on the Boxster the change is 15,000 miles/every year.
