2009 DB9 Volante trunk lining removal?

Good evening,
The fuel filler door is stuck open on my 2009 DB9 Volante due to a failed latch, so I want to gain access to the latch to diagnose the issue. It looks like the latch just won't come out of the retracted position.

I need to remove part of the lining from the trunk, and it appears I need to:
1) Loosen the left side of the bulkhead cover
2) Remove the trunk sill plate (grey plastic trim that covers the latch
3) Then remove the left quarter trim which is attached by TBD means.

Am I missing anything, and are there any issues to watch for, any tips?

Thank you,
Jeff

I haven't removed the trunk lining yet so I don't have anything definitive.

I can hear the fuel latch actuator working with the switch, and I've also operated the latch manually via the emergency pull.

Updated 2:23 pm:
The little tab that penetrates the fuel filler cavity and holds the fuel lid closed, is inconsistently moving in and out when operated electrically, but never enough to allow the lid to latch.

Using the emergency pull, I CAN manually extend the tab into the normally locked position, so I'm suspecting the cable/sheath is gummy.

I may leave it as is for now, it looks like I'd have to unglue trunk (boot) trim components in order to access the latch, something I don't wish to do at this time.

maor is infamous around these parts
I had this issue where the filler cap would not open but I could hear the actuator.

The left carpet is just glued on the side then the whole lining comes out.
