I was mearly taken back to see that a brand new 325k car can drop 125k+ in just one model year.
It is unless you buy it as a company car. I'm not an expert in this area but I believe you can writeoff the depreciation.

I was reminded of this discussion when I saw a Vanquish on the road a few minutes ago. Think I saw the same one two days ago. Nice to see it's someone's daily driver.

That is a big price drop but it does come with the territory. The Vanquish seems to be having a hard time selling so I'm not surprised that the price on re-sale would be a steep drop.

Meanwhile, almost all cars are depreciation machines. Sure it's nice when it doesn't drop too too much, but that's what cars do. Some can absorb that and happily accept the cost, others (like me) prefer to let the big depreciation happen on someone else's watch, while others like Karl get the most out of a car by keeping it so long that the depreciation just stops being a big deal.

Aston's have always had step depreciation. Look at what clean low mileage Vantage and DB9's are selling for. It's the bargain of the century!

So what would one expect a good discount to be on a new 2015 vanquish that's exactly to ones taste? Curious if it's worth trading up from the vantage v12.

Hello Gents-

New to the forum, but a long time lurker and this thread has me interested.

I was searching for a newer DBS because of the lines of the car. A Vantage V12VS will be a purchase when/if AM releases a manual for it.

As I was looking at the available DBS's, I glanced at the '14 Vanquish; what a surprise on the depreciation! THAT started me looking at the used/new '15 Vanquish market. So, here are my questions for the collective:

*How much better is the TT3 over the TT2? The new ZF would seem hard to pass up. Those of you with the TT2-is it just learning it, or is it really laggy?
*Does it make it a different car?
*Real world (not dealer-speak) order/delivery time right now?

I will keep this car about 5 year or longer and I plan to add a Vantage V12 to our existing stable of MB GL63 and Tesla S 85.

KF and I agree on the value of spec. I have found some really great combos in '14's, but the same old "ho hum" for '15's at the dealers. I may order if the wait is not too long. I don't care about depreciation; my accountant does and makes sure that it is properly booked.

Usage will be Santa Monica area, canyon runs and ***** out to Palm Springs. No crossing the Valley with this one.

Thanks

The 2014 has the old 6spd, the 2015 has the new 8speed.

All Aston V12s have terrible depreciation. The 2014 vanquishes should base out in the 15-160 range and hold from there. At that price they are a steal.

I agree, very smart move. The older V12 vantage shave seemed to slowed down significantly in the 110-120k range. I am sure the Vanquish will do the same in the $150-160k range, just like older V8Vs have based in the $55-65k range.

Once these Astons find their true market value, they are solid as a rock because at that price they represent incredible value for what you get. Until then... It can be a painful drop. Best way to play it is keep your powder dry until then and pick up an almost new car for bargain basement prices.
