Coolant Level Warning Message

Maybe a stupid question but I'm getting an intermittent 'coolant low' warning on hard left corners on my V8V. It was in for annual service last month and checked out fine. I just checked the level in the reservoir and it's pretty close to full (maybe room for a 1/4 cup). Just wondering if that's normal. Did a quick search here but didn't see anything. Anyone else experience this? Is it just to be ignored? Thanks

Use Distilled Water and you probably only need a 1/4 to 1/2 cup to resolve.

I had the message pop up quickly just once... and didn't return... So I am guessing it doesn't take much to trip the low level sensor.

Thanks. I'll put a bit of distilled in and see if that does it. Strange that in 8000 miles I've never seen a warning before.

If the reservoir is full and the msg pops up again, I've seen the level sensor float in the tank stick..solution would be to replace the reservoir and bleed the system.

You said a service was just done, could it of been a 5 year with coolant replaced?

Update - added 1/2 litre distilled. No more warnings in 500 miles of very twisty roads.
