Got to spend the day with TRG - Aston Martin Racing at VIR!
Last week several of us AM owners got to spend the day with TRG-AMR at VIR courtesy of Aston Martin of Greensboro (Foreign Cars Italia )
It was a fun time, Bob Varsa was the MC, and had several intersting stories to tell. We also got to listen to David Pettit the VP of marketing for IMSA, Kevin Buckler the owner of TRG, and Connie Nyholm the owner of VIR also gave a very good talk.
After that we were off to the track!
After the short drive from the Gallery, where we had lunch and listened to the speakers, we got to the track were they were prepping the cars
Kuno Wittmer is getting ready for a warm up run
Look how far back and down the V12 is placed on the ProDrive car!
Both Christina Nielsen and Kuno Wittmer were there to give ride-along hot laps.
About the time we were ready to go out, a heavy but short rain hit us
Lucky it was a short passing cloud. Once the rain stopped the track dried quickly in the Virginia heat.
I got to ride along with Kuno. This was amazing. A pro driver is several levels above what I have experienced, I have driven VIR on several track days, and Kuno was carrying way more speed through corners, and breaking much later.
It was a great day, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks to FCI, TRG-AMR, and VIR for hosting such a wonderful event.
Here is a shot of some of the street Astons that made it to the event. I met several new friends and fellow Aston owners.
