Before I bash it (since it's from Harbour Freight), it has done great lifting the front of my 3 ton Range Rover and the front of my old El Camino, with a full iron 454.
You should get a second pair of jack stands so you have the car lifted at four corners. Far safer that way!

I have a mobile mechanic that i use for my various cars. Your post is really inspiring me to get all the parts and have him do the service on my aston! I think lift would be necessary for the air filter.

I'm glad I inspired you I think you could have your mobile mechanic do the service. I did the air filters without a lift and didn't find it very difficult. I have since purchased RaceRamps from Amazon which will make it even easier to get under the car for this service. Cheers!

Did you just get 2 raceramps? Also what size did you get? I may invest on the raceramps as well

I remember seeing a drive on ramp that has a built-in hydraulic jack. Once you drive on to it, you can jack it up even higher. Don't remember where I seen this and unable to find it again. I would think this will be a great way to lift the car up to be work on. Anyone seen these before?

That's exactly what I have on my hoist . It's called a bridge jack . It slides on rails between the drive Ramps so you can jack the car up anywhere suitable and it has wings that extend out sideways to reach the jack points . It's awesome for working on all my cars . Wish I bought it years ago .

Not the bridge jack.. the one I am thinking of, you actually drives on to a ramp. Once on the ramp, the ramp can be raise with hydraulic pistons.

I got the two-piece 56" Race ramps. They fit under the front of the car without rubbing.
