I saw one for sale and when I called the owner he was very upfront about the car. He kept mentioning the transmission, so how often do they usually need servicing and how much does it cost?

Trying to gauge if the car is worth going after, it has almost 40k miles, have not seen it yet, but he listed it about $5-6,000 less than others I have seen for sale.

 

I had an 09 with sportshift and bought it with 30,000 miles, traded it on a new GT sportshift at 43,000 miles... Never an issue- was a great car.

 

It's not an automatic -- it's an automated manual. It has a clutch but no pedal, no gearstick. Biggest service item is clutch replacement. Clutch life depends on how it's driven.

OTOH, DB9 has a real automatic.
