DB9 used 2 pin coil needed
I think we are thinking along similar lines. There is a design flaw with the Ford Coil that tends towards premature failure, the 12 cylinders seem especially prone.
We have an upgraded solution which is in development/testing phase and which will likely be a fraction of the cost.

Thanks to CARAIBAM, I got a used coil and after searching around, I found the exact same coil (Ford DG-528). I bought the Delphi (GN10379) version of this for $36/ea, so basically half the cost of the AM version, you can find cheaper, but I like Delphi and they have a good reputation.
You will have to use your old boot and spring, still looking for that source.
I checked the voltage and OHM's and they were exact.
