Thread on Pistonheads for a couple of days now claims a 7 speed manual is a new an option on the V12VS.

Yes, this is "old-new" info. Its reported to have styling cues of the GT12 with a Vanquish interior. That said, since its about 18 months away, wouldn't it be best to wait for the new V8 Vantage with its new technology and styling. I'm also concerned about the epic depreciation of the last V12S.

 

Are we talking about a manual option for the current V12VS? Or a manual option for the next-gen Vantage? It sounds like two different cars in these posts.

Sorry for the confusion. The out-going V12 Vantage S will be offered with a manual transmission. The next generation of the Vantage will have a manual option.

 

More information on this car will be available in a few weeks. It will be very limited production.

Makes you wonder if the new DB11 gets a modified version of the V12...will the "to be released V12V S" come with that same DB11 engine?

If that was the case, why would someone want to wait for a V8 replacement.. :-P

 

Current MY V12VS have the updated interior, AFAIK, so nothing new there.

Can't say I'm holding my breath re: new tech and styling of the next Vantage, if the leaked pics of the DB11 are anything to go by. Turbocharged engine: yuck. Possible shared MB interior components: yuck. Increasingly fussy and less elegant design: yuck. The latest electrogadgets: who cares, save it for the daily driver.

As for depreciation, they all do that to some horrendous degree or another. I've never thought it good for my sanity to get obsessed with depreciation on toys, because once you're beyond basic transportation, you're into toy territory that can really be justified on an enjoyment basis only, and hardly ever on a prudent financial basis.

BTW Pistonheads says 100 cars for US. No idea where that number comes from.

 

The interior is the new 2016 dash for Vantage GT and DB9 Gt, same dash as the GT3..the V12VS you have is the older version to the 2016 GT. I'm sure that's what is going in this new V12VS ....more weight and hectic switches...really looks like the Vanquish center ski fall.

The new engine is...hehe I can't say much, signed my life away not to say anything..ask me tmr. ;-)

Yes there will be 100 cars for USA. That's coupe and roadster combined. I think they waited too long now that we have seen the DB11. We will know more shortly.

Yes its 100 coupes and roadsters combined for the US. The car has been confirmed now. Check with your dealer.
