ClearPlex? Vantage?
ClearPlex? Vantage?
Hello. Who has put ClearPlex on their Aston Vantage? http://www.clearplex.com/ Any issues with the install? The reason I am asking is because apparently the install is pretty evasive and requires heat and pressure to be applied to the film and that stresses the windshield. My installer says it's pretty thick stuff. Please share your experience. Thanks!

I have it and like it. Took installer two tries with different sheets of film to get it right.
You want someone that does the Clearplex regularly. Most often, the clear film (Xpel/3M) guys don't have experience installing the thicker film for the windshield, so be careful.
The clarity is cut down a bit, but not noticeable. Some states, the film is illegal. For one of my other cars, I used Bray windshield film and it was too challenging, so replaced with Clearplex.

We tried it on my V12V. It had some distortion and small bubbles so we took it back off. It will protect your windshield but there is a tradeoff in clarity as I have it on my Ford GT. Wipers definitely don't like it. I would not install it if you are just driving around town. If you take many highway trips its a good idea.
