Heated seat issue

2006 Cayenne turbo. I've got a strange problem with my driver side heated seat. The other 3 work great. Driver side works, but only for about a minute or so and then it turns off. If I change the heat level it'll come back on, but then turns back off. Any ideas? I've poked around under the seat and everything looks normal to me.

Sounds like there may be a short or a sensor that is going bad and thinks it's getting too hot maybe and shutting it down?

Here is another thread but doesn't sound like your problem exactly. Might be some ideas there though? https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...t-working.html

Yeah I looked through that one. Mine works, just not for long. So I was leaning more towards a sensor than a bad element. I'm just not sure where to start or where the sensors are.

I haven't taken one apart but looking at the parts diagram it looks like the sensors are built into the wiring harness for the seat. You'd have to find the specific one for your car as there are a LOT of variations but here's one just as an example...http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=817-30 (part #6) but it's been superseded by this part though...http://www.autoatlanta.com/results.php

I would think it would be fairly well plug and play from the looks of it anyway. If you've ever done anything with the battery you've probably had the seat halfway out already. I have, it's not too bad.

Also looks like part #4 on the diagram above is the heater control unit which I suppose could be going bad. Might be a good place to start looking but not sure if you can test it to see.
