Just saw an advertisement for an Aston Martin starter button conversion. For all cars with push to start.

Can anyone tell me what this conversion does?

 

Where is the Advert from? Does it mean pre 2009 cars that already have a button. Or later ones that eliminates the ECU.

 

There is one for sale on ebay, however there is no information in the ad. At first I thought it was for cars that did not have a push to start feature, however the ad states "For all cars with push to start"

I did google the part number. It’s a “Starter Button Conversion Kit” The ad also indicates that this was for cars with “Push button start”

This seemed like a contradiction, if the car has push button start why would it need a conversion kit?
Was this kit converting a car with push button start to key only start?

I was hoping someone on the list could shed some light on what appears to be a contradiction in the sales ad.
Your suggestion to “Google it” only tells me what it is, not how this part applies to a car that already has this function

 

That's for an early Vanquish, conversion to later style glass button.

ebay ad is $500 Aston Martin Car Parts is $351 and is new.

 

When the Start switch goes dead on a old Vanquish, you were screwed because the switch became obsolete. AM made a kit(that kit you linked) to solve the issue. AM took the newer glass switch in the DB9/Vantage(turn style key era), then made a chrome bezel and harness to fit this new switch into the old Vanquish.

Why the seller said it'll convert any push to start vehicle?..well, dude wants to sell it.
