2007 v8 clutch replace

Just had clutch replaced... When pressing clutch pedal in I hear a noise that sounds like rock rolling around. The mechanic says it'll get lesser w time... Keep rom under 3k for about 500 miles. He claims the noise is the springs. Can anyone offer their thoughts/opinion. Thx

I just had my clutch (and flywheel and slave cylinder and pilot bearing) replaced and it is perfectly smooth and perfectly silent.

Is the noise made just while you are in the motion of pressing the pedal down? Or all the time when the pedal is depressed?

Does it make the noise if you depress the clutch pedal while the engine is off?

Was your slave cylinder replaced? The throwout bearing is part of it.

If it doesn't make the noise when depressing the clutch pedal when the engine is off but does when the engine is on, then my opinion would be that it is not the springs in the clutch, since they are being moved when depressing the pedal whether the engine is on or off and would therefore likely make the noise in either case. But since it doesn't...

My guess is that the throwout bearing is bad. There's really not much else it could be. And it could be bad even if it's new, that would be unusual but not impossible.

Bottom line is that if my new clutch made any noises at all I would insist that it be investigated and repaired correctly.

IMHO, any clutch replacement must include replacement of the pilot bearing along with the throw out bearing/ slave cylinder.
If these parts were not replaced, go back to your mechanic.

If these parts were replaced, again go back to your mechanic

You shouldn't have any noise - it sounds like something was either installed incorrectly or needed to be replaced and wasn't (like the throw-out bearing).
