Driver side latch mechanism wont release! The passenger side does. The cable is not ripped. Any ideas? The only way i can think of releasing it is by cutting the hood grill and cutting the hinge off the hood but i really dont want to do that

as far as I know there is no ''driver'' ''passenger'' hood release mechanism but a central one operated from the driver side.anyway the mechanism is very simple and operated by a cable, thus the problem must come from the cable itself.before ''disfiguring '' your car you might try to take off the driver lower left side panel (or right if you're in the UK) and try to reach the cable and find out what is happening there.

I tried just about everything! It just looks like one of the latches just got jammed and wont release
i hear a click noise coming from the latch whenever i pull the handle. And yea we tried to push and pull on it while someone was pulling the release handle. There is no way getting to the latch because everything is so packed on these cars. I think i will have to cut the grill

Had to cut the driver side grill with a grinder and then with a sawzall i cut the hood hinge off. For some reason the driver side hinge got stuck and wouldnt release.

That. Sucks.

What a pain! Can you tell what caused it to jam?
