Track mode always the best? -DBS Adaptive Suspension

Quick question regarding the use of adaptive suspension on the DBS.

Is there ever a time where using the track/stiff suspension setting would not provide the best possible handling/grip?

The highways and back country roads my area (Toronto) while not laden with potholes, often isn't what you'd call nice and flat. Plenty of repairs, uneven pavement, divets and bumps. I'm wondering if the harder suspension setting would upset the chassis resulting in less grip in uneven settings, or if it would take some really rough roads for this to happen.

Depends on what your butt tells you and how the damping feels.

On rough and uneven roads (again depends on damping) it can overwhelm a stiff tract set up where you feel you are in the air more than on the ground. You should drive it back to back with different setting and see which gives you the most confidence

Geezus, why would you ever use anything but the least harsh setting on regular roads? Astons are sprung stiffly enough without making it worse.

The selectable suspension is so you can adjust it based on the road surface. In general, soft suspension on a rough road not only keeps you more comfortable, it helps keep the tires in contact with the road surface - that gives you more grip that you'll get with a stiffer suspension setting that causes the car to bounce off each bump (which breaks contact between the tires and road).
