New stable mate for the DBS
Well I'm in the process of buying another car and wanted to share this with you guys.
On my short list of someday "must own" cars there has always been a 3 pedal, mid engine Ferrari. After watching prices shoot to the moon as of late on really all gated Ferrari's, I thought it's now or never perhaps..
I have really always loved every generation of mid-engine Ferrari and have had the pleasure of driving all of them from the F355 and later on several occasions. While they each have a personality all their own the F430 has been my favorite so of course was my first choice. I quickly realized unfortunately that they've already been catapulted into the stratosphere in regards to price so a 360 was going to be it for me.
About a month ago or so I started the search for the ideal candidate. That being said, there were a few "must haves" for this car to fit the bill.
1. Had to be a coupe.. I went back and forth on this one but in the end I just couldn't bring myself to becoming a Ferrari Spider guy. I have not near enough chest hair and gold chains to pull that off. Unlike the DBS, any mid engine Ferrari is ostentatious but (IMO) the convertibles just take it way over the top.
2. Had to be a manual transmission car.. Enough said.
3. It had to be "Rosso Corsa". I mean.. If not then what's the point right?
Beyond these points.. I had an open mind. So the search was on.
Well.. This proved to be a much tougher task then I imagined. I was very surprised to learn there's a very limited supply of 3 pedal 360's out there but red coupes seemed non existent.
Then earlier this week this beauty popped up at Marshall Goldman in Cleveland.
2000 Ferrari 360, Rosso Corsa with Crema leather. The last owner installed a Tubi exhaust. Essentially exactly what I was looking for with only 3 previous owners and 7,000 very pampered miles. I called them up and pulled the trigger immediately (pending a PPI happening Monday).
I think it's going to pair well with the DBS. Hoping to have it home by the end of next week!

Congrats on the purchase. A 3 pedal car will at least hold its value well. I was initially looking at a 360CS but didn't want to deal with the belt change and so ended up with a Scud instead. You have a much better pairing with DBS and 360 with a GT and a sports car versus my Vantage and Scud. Hopefully the timing belt was change recently.
RC definitely is a eye catcher, but even in another color, people will stare. Much different experience than driving the Aston.
BTW that's a CS stripe not a Scuderia stripe.

Yes still have the DB9 also my friend.. It's really time to get serious about selling it unfortunately. Let me know if you're interested in talking about it. Hope everything is going well for you in Afghanistan!
