Interesting, I just was looking at the owner's manual fo rmy 2007 Vantage and it says that the doors can't be unlocked from inside the car if they were locked from the outside unless you first press the reduced guard button in the door jamb before locking the car. Seems like a death-trap system if you ask me.

But it doesn't matter too much for me since my car sometimes won't lock using the fob anyway. it clicks like it locked but you can still open the doors.

PNW is infamous around these parts
I had something similar on my 2003 BMW 330Ci. The internal ECU went out and wouldn't unlock the doors from the inside - essentially locking me in the car. That's when I discovered the inside door handle wasn't mechanically attached to the door lock.

Thanks for sharing this. My dealership said it takes about 20 mins to fix. I'm going to get it taken care of ASAP. Reminds me of a very sad story of an older man and his dog who were locked in their Corvette, and died of heat stroke.
