So happy today, I get to tear into my engine again

Was doing an inspection of my suspension last night and when I took off the engine pan, I saw oil all over the right side. Upon further inspection, traced the leak up to the valve cover.

So joy of joys, I get to tear the top end off again and replace the the valve cover gaskets.

So for anyone getting their coils replaced, have them do the valve cover gaskets also. Thought about doing it when I did the coils, but passed based on the cars low miles.

Also, looks like my timing cover gasket is also leaking. Have to say I am not seeing why the suspension has to be dropped, looks like it only needs to drop about an inch to get to the needed bolts, has anybody ever tried to just lower the suspension an inch and not take it all the way out?

Look up my post
I recently did it
Only thing you need is cut off part of those two rear stud holds which are anchoring the plastic piece to camcover.

You need to take a small hack saw blade, wrapped in cloth and some tap
Once part of the stud if broken off you will be able to take off cam cover easily

I think the question was whether it was necessary to drop the suspension to replace the timing cover gasket. I suspect it's possible by just lowering it a bit, but the job is a PIA that the dealers , with all the necessary tools and equipment probably find it easier to drop the entire front suspension .

True, but I bet there is a tech out there that found a way around dropping the whole suspension.

@Wildcat, saw that post and yes, going to do exactly what you did. THANKS!
