Thanks, hard to believe I'd never seen it mentioned before.
I assume they're under the same restrictions as bits and the rest, "can't export" [like that would stop me from making a sale] so anything that is not RHD specific is available but anything specific LHD is off limits without a VIN number that works for the EU?
I ordered 4 side markers. They sent me one and said they can't get the rest... What the F is one side marker going to do for me? Why bother sending it? They should've told me they can't get all 4. Now, I either have to return it or hope the dealer is ok with me providing 3 of the 4 for them to install. I had planned to install them with my neighbor, but now that I can't get them, I'll have the dealer do it. Now I am on the hook to ship them something they should've never shipped me to start with...
Ugg. You can always get the rest from one of the others and stick to the original plan, but you still have to deal with a refund. I wonder how some of these companies stay in business the way they handle problems.
I am having issues with them. They say they have parts in stock and clearly don't after you buy the parts. They don't return calls, took my three different attempts to actually talk to someone. When my parts never arrived and never updated the status on the parts I find out they are unable to get them (when they said they were in stock) and never bothered to issue me a refund or even tell me they are not coming... Still waiting for my refund...
This.^
Last winter I ordered a metal ac line that they clearly said they had in stock prior to placing the order. Not until after I paid did I get a message saying that I would receive an email confirming availability - then a week later find out it was back ordered. Took near three months to get the part. I also don't like their process of calculating the final shipping costs - after you've already ordered - shipping ended up being more than the part cost. They give you the option to back out if you don't like the final shipping cost but you forfeit your payment so do you have a choice?
It was my first time ordering from Scuderia but it was also my last.

I see the issue, I have another competitor that uses the same technique. They physically stock very little, when an order comes in they check the distributor for availability and their shipping program in the cart isn't setup to handle all the constant changes in international shipping, weight, size, costs, etc.
I have no shopping carts, I won't let anybody just order anything, they have to talk to me, I tell them what is, isn't, exact shipping etc. before I'll even give them a payment link.
There is no way they can keep your payment if they cannot provide the goods ordered. Absolutely no way, unless you paid them with cash and they refused to give it back to you.
I recall being pissed the part was back ordered after I had paid, when prior to payment it was showing "in stock". Dug out the emails so I report accurately and to check to see why I thought I couldn't cancel it and it turns out that they minimally keep 20% of the original sale value but they can keep up to 100% at their discretion - this is written right on their sales invoice. You also don't get this info (T&C's) till after you've paid. I also looked up the shipping cost to be accurate and it was 107% of the part price. Like I said, first and last time I'll ever order from them, I'll go to the dealer first and that's saying a lot.
Parts invoice
Shipping invoice at 107% part cost - Note the order cancel terms & conditions
That's "special order" parts. Parts that are "in stock" are not special order. Special order is for parts they don't stock and have to order. You have to understand how to fight them, nobody should be subjected to extremely poor business practices where any business is allowed to steal your money.
Shipping is a different story, and it's not cheap and has to be quoted on a case by case basis. It could be a $10 part but cost $30 to ship. I finally had it with my distributor shipping me a 50 cent washer Fedex for $12 and moved everything to hold for pickup only. International is just that much more complicated, and by valuation, it has to ship with online tracking and insurance to meet paypal/credit rules, otherwise you could just do a chargeback at any time because there are few services where tracking is available outside of the regular carriers [UPS,DHL,Fedex].

re read the T&C it's not Special Order or Custom parts - they CANNOT Be cancelled. The retention of minimally 20% up to 100% applies to ALL other parts - including parts in stock.
All other parts orders are subject to a minimum cancellation fee of 20% of the original sale value (decided at the discretion of Scuderia Car Parts).
ALL orders subject to 20%, they should not be in business. There should be a worldwide boycott on any business where their cart shows something is in inventory, and when they tell you it isn't but they're going to keep 20% of your payment if you cancel, they are in violation of the terms and conditions of ethical business to try and keep any money they did not earn.

I wholeheartedly agree. My boycott is 9 months old and aging
[QUOTE=HabitualOffender;4734379]I thought I had read enough to know but, what is HVM?? It does not matter any more. HWM is AM dealer in UK, rob was the guy to go to get AM parts, very reasonable almost always cheapest, prompt communication and shipping but now Stupid AM made a rule that european dealers are not allowed to ship parts to US.
I discovered a trick you can use with bits [this is typed in invisible ink so Headquarters can't read it].
If you can find a car with the right LHD parts in the EU [Germany, France, etc] and get the VIN number [I was looking at classified adds but evidently they don't have the same requirements there to post the VIN in the add!], bits can order the correct parts, but they need a LHD EU VIN to do it. Otherwise they can only order generic parts. I was looking for B&O specific LHD dash pieces in obsidian and silver stitching, which I found several cars but never made the call to get the VIN, and then found the place local AM highly recommends to do the refitting of my shrunken leather.

They sent me a payment link as well and this still happened... I want to return the one side marker they did send unless the local dealer is fine with my providing one. I only need two of them, but the two that work have a lot of condensation inside of them.

Invest in LED marker bulbs for the new ones. Regular bulbs (W5W) run too hot and open up the housing to lens seal in the center where the bulb mounts causing water ingress.
