The pointy end of a DB9 PPI
The pointy end of a DB9 PPI
Thanks to the incredible generosity of fellow member TKO211 I have narrowed my search to a '07 DB9 in Salt Lake and will be flying out to look at it next week.
What are the few most important issues to look for?
Timing chain cover? How would this issue be seen? Only with the belly pan off?
Other possible big-ticket dealer only repairs specific to the '07 models?
TIA,
David

Any ticking noises.
Blue smoke on start up from cold
Thanks XJRS,
The dreaded long dipstick still applies to this car. How do I know when the stick got changed for the short one? Will it show up in dealer records as a Field Service Action?
The weeping timing cover I can deal with, for the appropriate discount, but a car that has had oil starvation to the back two cylinders, not so much..
Deckman, It's been through the AM 113 point inspection recently and qualified for an extended warranty, so I plan to do the PPI myself.
TKO211 did an awesome job of looking the car over for cosmetics, so I just have to look at a few important issues before making the commitment..

+1 on Deckmans comment, and yes you want a visual when it up on a rack with the belly pan/s removed. Ask for the maintenance records to review. Most Aston Techs will tell you that coil replacement is "generally" needed at 30,000+ miles. When that's done the additional labor for plugs is minimal. Of course parts are anything BUT minimal in cost. All the best in your search.
