Apparently, the requirements for diminished value in NY are pretty strict.


From what I am learning, diminished value beyond the cost to repair is only award for a car that appreciates, or otherwise for a unique or brand new car.


Just out of interest, has anyone here ever filed diminished value claim in NY state?

You must mean depreciate, otherwise it makes no sense.
