DB9 Dipstick

Member "yvr" was kind enough to tell me that the part number for the replacement (shorter) DB9 dipstick is # 4G4E-6750-AC. My dipstick is 4G4E-6750-AB. Does that mean it's the original stick? if so, until I can get a replacement, can someone tell me how much shorter the new one is?
Thanks.

I think the intent was to get an extra litre/quart of oil in there. If that's true, then your "full" level probably indicates that you're a quart down & should add one. Hopefully someone else can answer authoritatively. Call a dealer?

If you try to order 4G4E-6750-AB with the AM Parts system, it only allows you to order 4G4E-6750-AC as a supercession so I believe you still have the earlier dipstick.

Service notes should show if it was replaced also.

Thanks all. I ordered a replacement (about $40 from a dealer).

ajmevans is infamous around these parts
Just as an update, just serviced the car and added the extra oil amount as per the AM Service Bulletin (BTW AM, 11.4 L is not 12.96 US Quarts, its 12.05). I have marked my old did stick and the level is halfway between the max mark and the upper indent on the stick.

Mark showing correct oil level (11.04l) on older dipstick

I thought the dip stick update was a recall and was provided for free?

Yes, correct it was a recall, but amazing how many pre-08 DB9's did not have it done, (my 05 has been religiously serviced by a top of the line AM dealer every year without fail, yet never had the dip stick changed) you could be running with not enough oil, this is just a home fix for those out there wondering....and also a correction to the AM Service Bulletin that you DO NOT put 13 quarts in you DB9

Stuart,
Do you know the date of the original Service Advisory or recall that changed the sticks?

The new, shorter dipsticks started with VIN 10286 which would be mid-year 2008 I think, but I have never found a date for the recall action?

This was a Recall but is only performed in conjunction with a service. If you did not purchase a service from a dealership, the recall was never performed.
