How to assess used V8V prices
Hi everyone!
I have been looking for a used >2010 V8V for quite some time, and the prices are all over the place.
KBB and NADA are the most common sources of used car pricing information and neither is any help in this case.
So my question is, how do I figure out what a "fair price" is so I can negotiate intelligently?

You usually get a good feel for the market just by searching for what others are selling and have sold for. On Ebay, you can search completed listings.
This guide was incredibly helpful for me on deciding on which year/model. It's an awesome read and will really make you feel lucky to own one of these cars.

I'll just give you my personal experience since I endured the process a couple months ago.
Basically MY06-08 will be in the high $30's to low $50's, depending on condition and mileage. It seems as though $46k should get you a clean example with low mileage.
MY2009 brought a lot of changes, including a 4.7 (up from 4.3) liter engine. The reworking of the engine was to address wishes for more low end torque. It is still in use with the latest V8 Vantages. This year also brought a revised suspension and interior (center stack). These typically sit in the 60's for lower mileage examples, but you can occasionally come across a good deal for high 50's.
From 2012-on you're probably looking at $70k plus.
Seems like manual transmissions hold value slightly better. In response to above, I actually prefer the 06-11 exterior with the newer clear tail lights and better wheels. But I would be happy with either.

I bought a 2008 stick shift V8 Vantage about two months ago. It was in perfect condition with all service records. It has no wear on the interior and the paint, after a color correction and detail looks like new. The original owner never drove the car in inclement weather and stored it for the winter. This is my second Vantage, the first being a 2009 sport shift. This car is a far better car than the 2009. Keep an open mind on the year your looking for. Search for condition above all else. My 2008 was bought fo 55 and my 2009 was bought a year ago for about the same. I'm a bit of a Concours nut and a car that I buy has to have the potential of being a show winner.
Manuals don't hold value slightly better, In my experience it's 5-10K more over a similar sportshift.
Time of year is also a big factor. Right now until late next fall will be prime selling prices. I bought in August so I paid. If you can buy during the winter you will pay a fair bit less.

I bought a 2010 manual back in december for 59k (24000 miles) - had all the options I wanted
It had a couple issues that needed fixed, but nothing major!
Interior is pretty much perfect, just need some floor mats, and a stupid new pen, I will probably leatherique everything leather inside whenever the weather stops being terrible
Mechanically though, everything was well sorted and it had a nearly new clutch (less than 500 miles on it)
So if I were to get the car in pristine condition yeah probably 65k would be a fair price to me but I was willing to deal with the little issues and fix them myself for less.
- premium sound
- manual transmission
- clear tail lights
- n400 sills
- memory seating
- Sport pack & wheels
It had a couple issues that needed fixed, but nothing major!
- grille damage (new grille $500)
- TPMS reset (dealer who sold me the car fixed the issue, was $1k)
- three small rock scuffs two on the paint one on the windshield (haven't fixed yet - attempting to polish windshield with $12 cerium oxide, paint is barely noticeable, might even buff out)
- windshield wipers replaced ($35)
- plastic key fob was in ****ty condition so I replaced the case ($100), no metal key (will cost $200 when I decide to get one)
- crystal key fob has a ding in the corner, going to take that to a jeweler to fix for $50 bucks probably
- a corner of the tint on the driver side window is starting to peel (will cost $50 to fix)
- someone installed aftermarket brake pads on the front so they squeal like a **** (attempted BG stop squeal, didn't do much $350 for 2 hours labor for the dealership to put it on)
- armrest on door was not bolted down properly (free to fix)

Mileage is a fairly big devalue, especially when it goes over 20k, Carfax hickups really hit price, especially any noted damage repair, but also lack of service history, indi opposed to AM dealer service, has it had all its recalls addressed, interior distress, all of it has an effect, and again, time of year.
Mine - August - so I paid
2010
Sport pack
Beosound [fabulous]
stick
coupe
memory
auto dim
celebrity car
basically a near flawless car with 5700 miles
$73.5
Then still needed the 5 year service because it had only been driven 74 miles in the last 2 years, needed a clutch [insert angry face], and several niggles sorted out [straighten steering wheel [alignment], get the loose nuts out of the doors, etc]

Wow thanks for all the replies!
I'm debating in my mind if its better to wait until the winter and the new Vantage drops, both should hit the used market pretty substantially.
I'm willing to pull the trigger before then but only if its a great deal.
I have been eyeing one local example:
https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...0023/overview/
It has all the options I want
All service records (was always serviced at this dealer)
Includes a one year CPO warranty.
I talked them down to 67k, but I'm really comfortable at 63-65k.
What do you guys think?

yeah but then you'll miss an entire summer of fun!
what if you get hit by a bus in August?

you could wait another 10 years and probably pay half that but do you want to wait?
I bought my 2011 V8 Vantage S a year ago for $68k. 15k miles, every option in the book, and it's the rare S model with higher HP and V12 bodywork. I think it was a great deal and it's been a great car.

Then work out a deal, to walk for $2 or $3000 is going to **** you off down the road. Ask the dealer to through in a cover, clear bra or a trickle charger, to sweeten the deal.
I would also recommend that you test drive a stick and this car to educate your self before you pull the trigger. Good Luck.
