These cars get better with time....
In the past, I questioned how to get into the upper reaches of the top end on these cars (Vantage V8S). Gotta admit, I eased into a buck-fifty pretty easily last night. Didn't even realize it too. I was busy concentrating on driving. It was my passenger that brought it to my attention after I said "that was 140 you just did", which prompted the reply "actually, you did 150".

I'm giving her all she's got Captain!!!

I see your imagination is running wild on you again!!
I ran the double S onramp and 55 was completely clear so, my foot went to the floor, redline thru 4th, into 5th, by the time I looked down I saw 140. Looked over at K and asked "doesn't feel like 140 does it?", to which she said "no." and went back to the jabbering she was already doing.
It sneaks up on you quick if you don't watch. And yes, there are several counties in CJ [central] where a ticket over 100 will get you 1-3 in the slam. Thankfully I was 1 county north for the 106 I pulled last year, so just the suspension. The statey was in an Explorer fast lane on the other side and we l looked at each other as I went by [I was doing about 90] and 100 yards after we passed there was a U turn, so I knew it was a mile till his next U. There's was no way he was coming after me so I kept on driving like I was running late [cause I was!]. Wouldn't you know he took the U and tracked me down for 20 miles before he caught me!! He was not very happy. I didn't bother pulling any of my get out of trouble cards, I knew they would have no effect.
If you get clocked over 100 on a Jersey road you will either do time, or Uber for a month, but you probably already know this
Reminds me of the story of an auto writer doing a test drive rural VA [but close to DC] in the new ZL1, and he calculated it was 7 seconds from start with his foot in it before he got to the 93 he was clocked at, and then sentenced to 3 days in county, which gave him a pretty good story in the end. I'm sure there are plenty of counties and plenty of judges ready to throw the book at the misguided among us.

I live in a rural area, about 25 miles any which way to a city with over 15k people. Lots of straight 'junk miles' to get anywhere. But I do enjoy passing people. I'm always very careful not to be a jerk and give them plenty of room. Still it's a small town and only a matter of time before someone confronts me in the supermarket as to my adventures.
But I'd rather do 40 - 60 all day long in some nice curves than 100 plus down a straight.

I agree though any mope can hit a straight away and pull 100. These cars are so much more fun on twisty roads.
Here's to a wonderful, SAFE, driving seasons to all.

Yes...There are places in NJ to open up with little to no chance of getting caught...Since buying my car...4.7 with sports package... Straight roads are fun but straight with curves are better...Central Jersey is loaded with them. I travel a lot and most interstates on the east coast are ticket magnets for super high speeds...Also...Most people driving are crazy. They are texting...Talking...Eating...So far no tickets in 28 years ....FYI...Yes...Bad guy...150 twice but not normal ...
Honestly I wish there were more curvy roads where I am at, only thing I get are highway on and off ramps to have a little fun
and going 140mph isn't that big of a deal, I got my 1996 Infinity I30 going that fast and it had maybe 190hp on a good day
