@Prefurbia Don't be a stranger. Feel free to hang around and impart wisdom from time to time.
Interestingly, I cancelled my C8 order in March after driving my buddies for a couple hour trip to Biloxi. My original delivery estimate was February, pushed off to May when I cancelled. Decided to hold out for a new gen Vantage. I thought the dealership would give me a hard time, but they seemed pleased. Apparently they are getting a better premium for in stock models, so they were fine refunding my deposit. I drove an 2019 Vantage and loved it. The C8 is a beast, but just didn't feel right to me. Fit and trim were great for an American car, but still felt Chevy to me. Could be all in my mind. Owning an AM is never a rational decision. It's 50% the branding for sure. Online there is such a drive to get the car with the best numbers, 0-60, BHP, 1/4 mile, Nurnburgring etc.. Yet a great car is the some of all of it's parts and sometimes it's quirks. Sometime the jack of all trades, master of none, is the best choice, especially when it comes wrapped in a tuxedo.
I have noticed used AM prices starting to go back up. Hopefully when I am ready this fall I can still find a 2020 AMR with in my budget once the 2021 models hit the street. I have to have a stick shift. I noticed the V12S prices have started going up more than any other AMs.
Going to still monitor and comment on this forum - going nowhere. One of the things I struggled with is that the V12S prices are rising fast, especially the 2017's. I sold my pristine 8,000 mile Series 4 Lagonda a decade ago for $42,000 - it'd be worth nearly 10 times that today.

Life is all about experiences and when your passion is cars different experiences can be rewarding. In my experience, there is no "best" but there are alot of different ways of being satisfying or entertaining. Congrats on the new car! Enjoy in good health.
Getting the garage sorted out finally.
4 post lift and race deck put in today. Will anchor the lift and cut in remaining race deck next weekend. Then paint and add a TV over the workbench.
It's an odd shaped space at 18x40'. There is a 3.5 car garage on the other side of the house, so the Vantage will not share space.

Congrats, looks great. You’ll love the lift. It makes things so much more enjoyable.
Painted calipers neon lime green. Going to sand and add another coat in a couple weeks. Not happy with the finish quality. However the color will work great with the new wrap going on end of the month.
Also finally installed the VAP airbox delete kit while I had the front wheels off. And yes @Get Your Wheels sent the wrong length lug nuts with my VS Forged wheels. Ordered wheels in January with lug nuts. Took until end of June for wheels to arrive due to COVID. Wheels are made in Italy and they were hit hard. Understandable. Love the wheels! However they arrived with out lugs so it took another 3 weeks to get the lug nuts they forgot, only to see they are the wrong ones. They sent 2 sizes, one too short, one too long. They look like truck lugs. Maybe I can sharpen them and go chariot racing Ben Hur style?
How are you washing your car - is that a pressure washer? What cleaner are you using? I have a pressure washer that plugs into the wall. Won't do the canvas top with it.....
Stuffing registration info loose in the glovebox seemed a bit too pedestrian after spending silly amounts to restore the factory-spec pen and umbrella for the new-to-me v8v. Now when the highwayman pulls me over, he's going to have to wait while I undo my envelope to retrieve my papers. High-quality leather, fits perfectly. The OCD could probably ask them to match the stitching color.
Broke open my wallet with a crowbar and bought a replacement roof control module for my 06 DB9. It was causing the usual display and electrical gremlins. I verified thst you can unplug it and you lose the obvious roof control but also the ability to open the trunk.
I removed the unit and looked at it under a 20x scope. I didnt see any cracks or obvious distortions. It is made by Kierkert but i was unable to second source it.
No surprise why it failed - no vibration dampening and not particularly climate controlled. Mine was built in 05 so likely original. I bought a new one but I will put some rubber dampeners when I put the new one in.
Decided to enter the Ambler Car Show, in Ambler PA. Nice event with about 250 cars. Most were older cars either restored or hot-rodded. There were a couple of very interesting cars - specifically a 914 that was turned into an EV with 90KW of power, replacing the VW engine. With the torque of the EV, it would make the 914 turn into a very nice car. There was also in my class, a very nice Ferrari 599 GTB, 2017 Maserati Grand Turismo Spyder, and a C8 and Mustangs. The Ferrari won 1st place in class, and mine won 2nd place in class. Several of the judges asked if it was original paint as it shines nicely.
Recently on my Aston Martin . I decided to change the brakes. I decided to replace the AMG brakes. Of course, some people might judge me. But I really like their durability. But they're quite expensive. I bought a complete set for 19,000 euros here - mercteil. I'll see what kind of wear and tear they have. It's such an experiment.
