So from that perspective, going with a wrap will certainly cut down on the effort you are expending keeping the black car clean.

But as for doing it yourself, hmm... it's a skilled process...
Any idea the name or brand of film used? never heard of ceramic coated vinyl before... as for the skilled process, my wife says I have great hands

plus all winter long to learn, right?

One car is Avery Dennison, the other is 3M.

The ceramic coating is a liquid that's applied after the wrap. I don't know any more about it than that.

None of the wraps have a ceramic or glass coating on them when wrapped. However, it is very normal for people who have wraps or clear bra installed on a car, they have ceramic (CQuartz) or glass (Modesta, 22ple, Kamakazie, Gyeon, GTechniq etc...) coatings installed on the wrap or clear bra. These coatings give the films extra UV and other chemical protection. Likely a $500-1k addition in pricing depending on product used and the installer. MOdesta coating would likely cost $300-$600 more just because of the cost of the coating itself.

Regardless of what type is used, you still need to maintain the coating just like you would a sealant wax. It should be washed with a coating specific wash soap, a product such as CarPro Reload from time to time, and eventually they will wear off and need to be repplied.

But, I would apply a coating to a wrap or a clear bra for sure I it was my car
