I have this problem all the time, assuming you're talking about the door not popping open. I've resorted to almost always skipping the fuel release button in the car and just using the manual release in the trunk. I also have to fiddle with the door while pulling the release. The dealer has attempted to fix it once, but I figure its the price of a hand assembled, limited quantity production type vehicle. It's bound to happen.

I would think its in the manual, but basic info is also omitted, so here is some details.
Inside the trunk area on the drivers side, there should be a small panel that opens. behind it is the white manual pull release pictured below indicated by the red arrow. The picture below shows the whole left side of the trunk area removed, the access panel is actually much smaller, but you'll get the idea. You're looking for that small round pull tab.

 

Thanks, I was aware there was another way to release it. Just not too pleased that before the fix there was no problem and now there is. Perhaps it would have eventually failed with out the recall fix, but it was fine for over 100k miles...

 

Luck you lasting a 100,000 miles. LOL. I only had 26,000 miles when it started.

 

6000 when mine started. There are some trick fixes where you remove the cap complete with arm and shim the side it sticks on the center it. Or, just bend the arm a little and it'll be find. Don't try to break it, it doesn't take much.
