You guys are good ! Now I just gotta figure out how to use this thing .I can't find any remotes. Is this thing supposed to work through the car's speaker or console or something?
Now you need to find out whether it has a wired control panel/power switch or operates by remote. A K40 dealer will be able to determine that if you're unable to. You should still find a speaker for the alerts, probably under the driver's side dash. The thing you found on the passenger side is the tire pressure warning panel. The colors are keyed to the colored rings around your valve stems.

for battery conditioner, what do you guys recommend. i briefly searched on this form last night and it seems CTEK MXS 5 is the best. but i was so tired last night that i didn't go any farther. i know these cars are notorious PITA when battery runs out, you can't even open the locked doors.

Doesn't really matter, I use this CTEK
https://amzn.to/2FjMaRz

and this easy plugger for the rear
https://amzn.to/2HYANS5

and it works like a charm, super easy to use and I've never had any electric issues at all on my 2010

There are few CTEK's to choose from. You may want the extended cable and cigarette charger dongle since that is how they are charged on the Aston. On my Jags and Lotus, it was connected to the post of the battery.

thanks guys, this all makes sense now.

i was reading up on K40 last night. seems like i have one of those integrated one. although i am not sure if mine has jammer or not. but this totally explains the unknown two little LED bulbs on my dash board. i noticed that when i test drove the car i thought it was a shift limit warning LED. but apparently it's for the K40. i am impressed that radar detectors now are able to integrate this fully with the car. it's been many years since i used one. there's an auto electronic shop around me i might go check it out.

thanks all!!! i wonder what else i might find lol.. perhaps an aftermarket exhaust lol

You most likely have a rl360i and need a remote control to operate it. The remote is around $140. PM me and I will pass you a person to contact who can get you the remote.

You WILL need to trace the wires to the brain, and get a few pics of the black rectangle box about 5-6" long, 1" thick or so and 4" wide. You can look at pictures for a 360 K40 and see what they look like.

You MOST likely will want to set it up with the remote and turn OFF X and K bands. The K40 sucks for alerts from Acura MDX's and Audi's and a few others. Every dam car that has side radar alerts it. So turn them off and hope all Cops are using Ka bands in your area. You can run it with K and Ka running for a bit and see how bad it is before turning the K off. Thats what I did. Now if it alerts, a cop is nearby absolutely for sure. But I still have to watch

So I dont write my self a ticket. LOL

The big black plastic box is just the fusebox.

Tip - Pull fuse 22 if you want your exhaust to be open all the time, rather than just over 4000 rpm. Growley but not obnoxious.
And i just opened the fuse box and found out that the previous owner had already removed fuse 22 lol. looks like someone already did everything for me.
