question about trackers
so i thought all this talk of tracker draining batteries was the internal alarm motion tracker. but apparently i think most people are actually talking about a GPS tracker.
how do i tell if my car has a tracker or not. and how do i activate it.
and secondly, this has been bugging me for a long time. i see a lot of people referencing MY 2009 vantage, MY 2007 Vantage etc. just what exactly is the "MY" referencing to. surely can't be "Mine". googled but as you can imagine googling "MY" is going to give you lots of keyword results for people referencing to "their" car as "my" vantage.

MY is model year.
It's unlikely that your car would have a tracker installed, and it'd be tough for you to find one if installed given that they're placed in spots where thieves would have a hard time locating them. However, in an Aston, I'd think the most likely place is probably behind the trunk liner. I used to install LoJack around the turn of the century, mostly because my insurer at the time required it. My feeling is that they're far less popular these days.

The trackers for a Vantage are inside the cabin. Not common to see in the US, but extremely common elsewhere (often required in the UK by insurance companies). If you have any questions about trackers, James (James@AstonInstallations.com) deals with them all day, every day, and can help you out.
As MikeD said, MY is for model year. It's close to calendar year, but not the same. When you see a 2019 vehicle being sold in 2018, it can be a bit confusing as to how it's already being sold when it isn't 2019 yet - it's MY19 not calendar-year '19. Typically, MY is always used for vehicles even if not stated.
