DESPERATE!!! 2011 Vantage S DSC Service Required / Traction Control Temporarily Off
2007 Vantage.
After a longish drive the DSC light appeared on the dashboard with "Traction control off". I am aware that it could be one of several things.
Brake pressure sensor, YAW control unit, wheel bearings sensors. I have no interest in going through that list. Honestly, I can live without this function.
My question is, can this function be disabled? Perhaps pulling a fuse or removing the YAW control unit?
Essentially anything that would prevent the alert light from appearing on the dashboard.

I had the traction control and DSC error messages for a while. Eventually the instrument cluster started resetting on drives, going blank or lighting up every warning light and giving an overtemp alarm. The couple of times it did that was pretty scary. It would always clear with a key-off-key-on cycle. I read about the issue and the possibility that the brake pressure transducer could be the culprit. After looking at the schematics for the car and realizing that the ABS module terminates one the end of a CAN bus and the instrument cluster terminates the other end it started to make sense. I guess that the sensor either goes open or short, causes the ABS module to reset and corrupt the data on that specific CAN bus. Since replacing the sensor I haven't seen the issue return. The brake pressure transducer is an inexpensive ford part and easy to replace. As far as going down the list items go, it's not bad at all.

If I recall, the Ford equivalent is 9C2Z2B674A and looks identical to the part 4G43-33-10214 sold by Aston. You can get the genuine Ford part for $50 or so. I've heard that some later ABS modules might have the pressure transducer integrated. If you have a sensor on the bottom of the brake master cylinder then the Ford part should work.
