front brake pad price discrepancy

I got a quote from the AM dealer today regarding brake pads for v8v. Says for 2013, for some reason the price of the brake pads increased from 2012 but only for the front pads. He does not know why. Front pads are $1650. Rear pads are $695. Normal?

I assume the price increase is due to the 6 piston Brembo front brakes installed starting with the V8V S (in late 2011). I installed Porterfield pads for a fraction of that cost (and a couple hours of time). Check with Redpants.

$2350 for just brake pads? Wow, that's bold.

This is only a guess-----there are rotors included??????? Or installation included???????

If not that is HIGHWAY ROBBERY and someone needs a reality check.

I think all the ones i have seen are $300 or so for the fronts and a couple hundred for the rears. Porterfield, EBC etc....... Get them from VelocityAP or Redpants.lol you will be much happier

You can get them directly from Porterfield in Costa Mesa yourself.

Were the Brembo front pads part of the 2013 non S?
Was Brembo just the front and not the rear?
Does it make a difference in terms of performance that is noticeable?

Labor is $360 for front and $360 for rear. Sensors are $138 for front and $150 for rear.

Any other suggestions for more reasonably priced shops? I am in the orange county area near santa ana.

I believe that all V8 Vantages got the 6 piston Brembo front brakes starting in 2013 and that all V8V rears are also Brembo. Most of the advantages of the 6 piston brakes will be felt on the track.

I could not find my car under brake pad selector. It only has the Rapide. Were the prices cheaper directly from Porterfield in Costa Mesa vs ordering them on redpants.lol ?

Do you know if you need to change the sensors every single time? If so, where do you guys get the sensors from?

Generally you don’t need to change the brake pad sensors. If you check your pads annually, you should be able to detect when the pads are low and replace them before you get a warning light from the sensors. I switched to Porterfields on my 09 Vantage to get rid of the brake dust even though I had plenty of OEM pad life left. They work just fine

I called Porterfield. They said for 2013, they are not sure if it is 4 piston or 6 piston. I have a non S V8 Vantage.

Tried to upload picture but some reason cannot.
