Coincidentally, I took the 993 out for the 1st drive of spring (stored since Dec), and for the 1st time in the last 12 years, I pulled the DME relay to crank up some oil pressure before the actual start. I noticed the lifters were quieter than the last start(s)... probably overkill, but I figured why not.

Curious about the AM procedure though.

Crank the car with the gas pedal floored. It won't run the injectors. Builds oil pressure.

:-) Full throttle startup did not work today on my 1999 Porsche 996 C4 with the electronic throttle. I just finished an IMS replacement with the Pelican bearing.
I thought I was going to have a heart attack before I got the engine shutdown. It started right up and headed for 8000 rpm :-(
I didn't search for the DME and pull it.
Just in case anyone needs to know.
Lance

Yikes!!! This is for the Aston! It's not standard on all cars.
