Stereo climate control display - weird lines looks cracked
Hard to take a picture in the daylight but the display seems damaged. It's not the surface that's scratched but it's underneath, looks like melted plastic (left and right corners). Apologies for the bad Pic
You can buy just the lens from Aston Parts, but yes a DB9 or even Vantage are the same as far as the lens. to change the control unit may not depending on what electronic package was fitted to the donor car. Just buy a new lens.
Took a closer look this morning. Unfortunately it isn't the lens (wish it was as it would be a straightforward swap). It looks like the layer under the lens next to that display. The display works fine.
At night it's not noticeable as the graphics/pixels appear fine.
Does this mean I need to get a new unit, if so can I just get a regular db9/vantage unit?
It's in the lens, it's called crazing. Again if you replace the assembly with another used one all the features may not work. Do a search on here for lens replacement.
