2012 AM V8 Vantage music hookup

Hey Guys,

I just purchased a 2012 Aston Martin V8 Vantage and looking for the best way to listen to Spotify from my iPhone X. I see the music options for USB but I hooked up the USB to my phone and its not recognizing anything. Am i doing something wrong or should I just purchase like a Bluetooth thing to connect that way?

Thanks!

Your year V8V will not stream music via bluetooth, you can only use for phone calls. You can either upgrade the bluetooth module from a AM dealer or purchase a 12v frequency transmitter and stream that way!

does your car have the 30-pin iPod connector in the console? I use the Bovee dongle to convert the iPod cable to a Bluetooth receiver. Works great.

I second on Bovee 1000. You can advance/reverse songs with the button on steering, there's up/down button next to volume +-. My car is 2012.25 V8V.

I had the same issue when I plug in my iPhone, the car says "device not recognized" or something like that. The phone charges and the telephone works fine. I brought it the dealer and tried like 4-5 different iPhones. Only one of iPhones would recognize which was a very old version of IOS. I contacted AM corporate and never heard back. Dealer had never seen this issue before and am pretty confident in their repair skills. Dealer suggests upgrading to streaming Bluetooth upgrade for like $1200.

Looks like I am not alone in this...

The Bovee did not make a difference, got the same message when using it.
