Ah OK, I couldn't remember if yours was the one idling rough and or cutting out. My guy has also checked the fuel filters and the inside of the fuel tank for any cracked pipes

I got the same problems on other cars in the past and always had luck with putting in injection cleaner from liqui moly or STP, problems solved. Perhaps that can help you too? It's worth a few bucks and can not hurt :-) Good luck!

Seems like the last and easiest part to replace fixes the issue. Keep up the hunt.

I know it may sound like its not connected but check your brake switch... if that blue brake switch plunger sticks when you let off the brake the car will limp until the plunger unsticks and then the car lunges as the car doesn’t sense the brakes anymore.

Best way to tell if the plunger is sticking, press the brake pedal and look for the brake lights to illuminate. When you release your foot off the brake look to see how quickly the brake light goes out. There should be no delay... I just used the reflection off the closed garage door and I could see that my brake lights were still on while I was pressing the gas... the car wont accelerate if that plunger is pushed in... the engine will rev... but the car will just crawl until the plunger popped...

Just don’t underestimate how that $14.switch affects stop and go acceleration..

not sure why, but i'm sort of longing for the days when one could drive down the road at speed and be completely unaware that the car had no brakes until it went over a cliff.

Db9 limp mode issues p087 low or loss of fuel pressure randomly

Well today I tried replacing the fuel pressure sensors i put half a tank of fuel in it and i drove about 10 miles cruising the interstate at around 82-85 mph. I decided to down gear and push it harder as soon as i touched the paddle instantly limp mode, take it to the side of the road turned it off back on like nothing happend. Drove another 20 miles with no issues... Unfortunately have a car rally beginning next month the dealership is 3 hrs away and I have to solve the issue soon! Anyone else solve the issues? Im adding a fuel cleaner tomorrow morning!

Common theme

Hi all, and Merry Christmas.
So having purchased my dream car a (2008) DB9 coupe, the issue that is being experience here by all you gents has been happening to me. I’ve replaced the battery, done a coil pack and spark plugs change ( it was due )and even tried the fuel additive route but unfortunately I get the limp mode , fuel check, emissions service light , issue. Turn the car off and on and the fault goes away for a while (even if the lights stay on sometimes).
So I’m keen to take my pride and joy to someone that has seen this issue before and would be Interested in mechanic recommendation, especially your guy Deanoroger.
im based in London but happy to take the car to wherever it needs to go (so I sound desperate), as I’d just like to enjoy my dream car rather than contemplate selling.
thanks in advance for any support.
Rich.

So my issue seemed to be a cracked intake boot on the drivers side where the throttle body has to be removed for service. I also replaced both mass airflow sensors at the same time and reinstalled the stock air boxes when I did that! Hope this helps

Since you are based in London, the best place to take your DB9 would be Bamford Rose - probably the best Aston Service. You can look them up on the web for their videos.:

Absolutely call Mike at Bamford Rose. He seems to fix things that the Aston dealers can’t.

Mechanic recommendation

Originally it was just check fuel which would disappear after stopping and restarting. Recently its decided to throw up check emission as well which has to be cleared by a code reader. Unlike yours tho, mine runs fine when it doesn't have the fault. My mechanic has a driver coming from Scuderia so will keep you posted
Dean, is it possible to give me the details of your mechanic, I’m having the same issues but would like to take it to a guy that has seen this before ?
cheers
Rich

Sure Rich, are you in Perth Western Australia? Coz that's where I am
As an aside, the fuel pump driver wasn't the issue and am now waiting for a pressure sensor to see if that is it.
Ran injector cleaner through it twice but no help
