DB9 Exhaust Header Removal - any DIYs?

As per the title,

Has anyone removed their own exhaust manifolds from the DB9? If so could you share the procedure please?

I know the earlier V12's needed a full front end drop to remove the manifolds but I believe this isn't the case with the DB9.

Cheers

Don’t see how that is possible. You can’t even remove the oil filter out the bottom.

The works manual (available online) shows the exhaust headers dropping out with "minimal" (cough, for an AM) effort. I was surprised that the lower front subframe stays in place, and that the engine remains in place. But, that is how they show it.

I can't imagine trying this job on 4 jackstands, but you should have enough clearance if they are tall ones.

Good luck! And, if you do take them out, be sure to swap out your O2 sensors. Well worth the $200.00 to put 8 new ones in. And if not, at least remove them and put anti-seize on them...

I'd definitely be interested in seeing that version of the manual. The version I have describes the process as remove wheel arch liners, remove undertray, remove lower suspension arms, disconnect anti-roll bar links, and remove subframe altogether. I've heard that one can slightly lower the subframe to make room, just haven't heard much more than that.

Quickjacks just showed up yesterday so I can do my annual service easily. I'll have to take a look while I'm under there.

You do need to drop the front subframe, or at least let the rear hang down to remove OEM manifolds. So you'll need to support the engine as well.

Thanks for clarifying - I misread the manual trying to help... Obviously when I took mine off I had dropped the engine!
