I've been looking for the right DB9 and have contacted authorized dealers around the US with mixed results over the past year. Some respond immediately to sales and technical service questions while others don't even respond past the generic email to come in person to the dealership. Some within 24 hours send all the requested information and other it's weeks of trying to get the records and pictures from the dealerships.
How has your experiences been lately? My only explanation is possibly the recent slow sales mean dealers are putting more effort into their other brands with a better sell through rate.
The sales staff at Morries in Minneapolis resembles a non-stop revolving door - however, they do try hard and my dealing have always been great. Morries service is outstanding to the point that I have all my cars serviced there, not just the Vantage. My most nightmarish experience was purchasing a new V12S from Beverly Hills Aston Martin which the experience alone that has tarnished my opinion of Aston Martin. In addition, that Aston Martin Corporate was well aware of the abuse as Beverly Hills mentally tortured me with during the incredible painful purchase process has soured me on the brand - and I've still not recovered a year later - every time I look at my car, I relive the experience. Not only did they treat me with disdain and were insulting, I paid for my portion of the shipping in advance - they never paid the shipper so the shipper called me at home and complained to me - I paid license fees and taxes in advance - they never sent the check to the State of Minnesota and when they did finally reimburse me several thousand I paid out of pocket (a week later) that checked bounced. Aston Martin corporate knew exactly what I went through and did absolutely nothing! The only saving grace is that how awful Beverly Hills is - Morries Aston Martin is the polar opposite and I could not be more pleased that I have them within walking distance of both my home and office! Also Norberts at Napleton is incredibly knowledgeable on the brand, but it was Napleton that sold me a tracked V12S as Timeless Certified and claimed that he had no knowledge of the previous history - which I found out later was an outright lie when Morries showed me the paperwork that Napleton was given when they purchased the car from Aston Martin.
Yes a DB9 I was looking at that's still for sale has paintwork and is timeless certified and the two salespeople both said they were told there's no paintwork when the original owner tried to sell it previously privately and disclosed that a part of the rear was scratched and recoated in clear coat. The timeless certification doesn't mean anything cosmeticly only mechanical a more honest dealer explained.
At least you have a dealer. I’m near Jacksonville Florida and the closest dealer is in Orlando a two hour drive away. I haven’t heard anything good about them either so I do all my own maintenance.

Could you explain the issues you have heard I just this week emailed them about a car.
Fact is a lot of sales pple aren't tech/app savvy and they find it a hassle to reply emails, take pics, attach files etc. Once they sense you're asking too much, they will ghost you. I for one only work with tech/app savvy sales people who are super responsive. Last two cars I bought communicating via messaging apps. Couldn't be happier.
In any case you are looking westward, I have dealt with Los Gatos Luxury, Galpin, O'Gara, AM Newport Beach, and AM San Diego. There are pros and cons to each dealership. Reach out again if you need more information.

I definitely will. Gary in terms of communication at San Diego was great but unfortunately by the time I contacted him the car ended up being sold already. I've contacted over 10 dealers throughout the US and like you said some salespeople drag their feet in sending any photos of possibly chipped keys amd especially of the scratches or dents. One dealer was really frustrating and kept saying it's CPO nothing to worry about when I asked a list of standard questions like about bubbling leather or dash images etc. I'm not a fool I've dealt with and read through CPO warranties squeaks, rattles, water ingress and "cosmetic" issues aren't covered.

I've had good luck with Aston Martin Orlando. Don Byrd is service adviser. reasonable price on new clutch and timely responses...I do regular fluids, filter service myself. a few parts orders go well... getting ready to drop off for fluid flush after I change out brake pads...
Anyone deal with Cleveland or Toronto?
those are my two closest dealers and need to bring the car in this spring for the Apple CarPlay software update
any contact info at either place?
thx
San Diego is the most perfect car dealership that I have ever dealt with. They are a collection of the most professional people in the auto industry. I bought a 2010 Vantage from them and I have been thrilled in virtually every way. Gary, the sales director is amazing, James, the brand manager is incredible in every way. Eddie runs service and he is honest, hard working and fair about everything. This place is a total class act and they are a pleasure to do business with. They tell you what they are going to do and then do it! You cannot go wrong dealing with them on a new car, used car or just making a friend!
I thought that I had bought a car but that is never the case at San Diego Aston Martin. You and your car are adopted into their family and they treat you like royalty! I was concerned when they were purchased but I have met the management from Newport and Dan is just like the people at San Diego and the experience has only gotten better! Try them, you will like them!

That's got to be the best dealer experience I've heard. That's great that the team works hard and is honest with their customers.
Since I've been contemplating a V8V purchase I've talked with the dealer in the St. Louis, MO, USA area.
They just got bought, so they're in a bit of a state at the moment. It's unfortunately taken me weeks and much prodding to get a few prices for parts and services, and after multiple promises, they still haven't given me the entire list of part prices I asked for. I can't tell if this is because they're still in disorder from being bought or if this is business as usual.
Also, maybe everyone will tell me this is normal, but their prices seem to have at minimum a 100% markup from everything else I've read on the internet. For example, the price on a standard clutch service was $6000 just for the parts, when I've seen them other places online listing the kit for more like $3500. The AMR clutch was quoted to me at $7500 for the kit when online is $4000. For a replacement crystal key they want $1880 and $250 for programming. A extra valet key would be $1215, FOUR TIMES what I thought the price would be looking around the web.
It's Aston Martin, and having a Porsche, I expected a "Marquee Markup", but the markups at this particular dealer seem very steep. I haven't had the heart to even ask about their labor rate as there are several local garages in the area that service these cars so I'd most likely be going to one of those anyway.
