Removing the waterfall

Thanks to Rich for putting out a video on removing the waterfall.

In the comments, I noted that I haven't successfully removed the waterfall without breaking the loops that hold the nav door hinge when pulling on the hole of the open door. I've been able to repair the eyelets, but it's a pain to go through that (see pictures below). Also I found that if I try to pop it out with a trim tool along the outer edges, it indents the leather covered ridge from the trim tool levering on that surface. I wanted to see if I could continue the discussion here to see if Rich or others can provide more detail on their procedures.

Here's another innovative alternative method, using a bit of nylon strap.

My recommendation is unless you're using quality tools and utilizing proper technique, is to forego this route and leverage some combo of above and below method instead.

Alternate method, working from bottom up - makes more sense to me and doesn't risk damaging the leather. As long as you proper quality tools, prying it the bottom up and then just working the top clips loose from the corners seems to be safest route.

I've used that PistonHeads method before. Works well.

I just did this today and did the bottom up method. I used narrow trim tool to get the bottom 2 clips loose. I then was able to lift the bottom portion enough to get a wide trim tool (about 2.5 inches) and a folded micro fiber under left and right front edges to get the front clips loose. The wider trim tool spreads more of the load across the leather. Plus since the panel is already loose, you should end up leveraging more on the seam instead of the inside edge. The seam is more ridged. Didn't seem to put indentations in the leather for me.
