I Made Dual Air/Oil Separator's for the DB9/DBS/Vanquish
I hope everyone is well during these trying times. I had some extra time as most of us do these days and decided to conquer the oil in the air inlet/throttle body/intake manifold issue that these V12's are notorious for which brings oil where we don't want it. I had many pools of oil after only 100 miles of spirited driving and with virtually every system replaced or gone over by the dealer I reached the same consensus as RedPants and many other owners on here and forums across the world, the system is inadequate to say the least. However to date nobody had come up with a decent solution that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
I started with the biggest issue which is the space constraints found in our engine bays, I knew this wouldn't be easy so I ordered 6 different brands and sizes of air/oil separators from various sites. I attempted to fit each one with little success, until I found a Jegs-branded setup, which is essentially a Moroso clone but with straight inlets/outlets. This setup proved to not only fit but performed very well as I had previously run them in my Viper-ACR, bingo. Next I had to run the hoses to and from the separators without it looking messy, after several attempts I came up with my current setup that is both functional and it looks great!!
Maintenance is easy, simply unscrew the tank and drain, I found 3 ounces in each tank after 200 miles of spirited driving. I hope this helps everyone. Cheers!!
Also to note I've been running this setup for 2 months and 600 miles and this system works very well, the next stage will be to secure both canisters better, although they don't really move much the way they are setup now I think to properly finish it off I will make some custom aluminum brackets to secure them.
Just cleaned out my throttle bodies earlier today and found about a teaspoon of oil in each manifold. I think catch cans like these will be the next project. Thanks for sharing.
nicely done! I've got some Jegs credit, so this will be a good spend. Where are you attaching the ends of your PCV hoses?

Where are you attaching the ends of your PCV hoses? Though I'd ask too.
Regards,
I guess everyone jumped on the Jegs separators, I've never seen them out of stock before, first toilet paper and now this, it just keeps getting better.
I did a quick little write up on how to attach the hoses and separators, let me know if it all makes sense, this diagram is for the drivers side, the passenger side is the same just a little more cramped with the return vacuum to the engine. Cheers.

Well that seems pretty straight forward. Thanks for posting all of this.
Oh, I do have toilet paper on reserve too.
Regards,
My pleasure, thanks for the offer on the TP, also I plan on hand fabricating some aluminum brackets for the separators in the next few days, I will update later this week, Cheers!
