Lease is through a large bank. My understanding is they purchase the car from the dealer. Lets say Aston goes out of business, dealers close and nowhere to service the car. Am I still on the hook for the whole lease or can I return the car with a good lawyer? Theres probably no language about manufacturer going out of business in the lease agreement. I gotta double check
Just curious what folks think about this unlikely situation

It still looks fairly unlikely Aston will go bankrupt. If they did it isn't clear that this would lead to a "liquidation" so the chances of Aston service not being available for the term of a current lease seems pretty remote.
Someone will buy out AML at bankruptcy and carry on should that happen. They also buy all the service contracts and obligations that AML has to honor.
Maybe Stroll and company are waiting for the majority share?

It may never be bankruptcy per se but a restructuring. In any case all service, etc obligations would remain intact. It will be interesting to see if Aston can pivot into a “Ferrari” place without a huge partner. If it’s true the AMG partnership will expire it will be very expensive for AML to go it alone in all aspects of creating product especially in tech where they are already lagging. I’m personally intrigued by the new V6 but I also expect bullet proof reliability from my cars which is why I’d never bother with a Ferrari. I feel there might be an Audi R8 in my future. Might be smart to get my hands on one of the last naturally aspirated engines around.

I completely agree.
Ill have a beer with u. They still gotta sell whats left to dealers ie DBX, and dealers are hurting bad. They wont be able to afford the cars without huge incentives.
mclaren too. I saw a mclaren gt lease for 2k... 2k$!!!!!

The new business model is completely different than the past - limited production sports cars - finally!!! It's been many years since I've started to have confidence in Aston, I think it's finally happening that they go back to their basics (with the exception of the DBX). Not a word on Palmer with the latest news.
I disagree. Some don't want a Mercedes anything and having that as power plant is like a personal violation. The Mercedes AMG V8 is the worst sounding V8 on the market (IMO). Way too baritone rumble for my taste.
