Honestly I've always loved the DB line, and personally I think the DB11 is the most beautiful of the modern DB's. I think the DB11 is a major step up in every way comfort and tech wise. The technology is pretty good but honestly lags significantly behind a new BMW/Merc/Audi (I'm getting an aftermarket Apple Carplay kit installed which should close that gap). Comfort/road noise is acceptable and a big step up (as is the general fit and finish of everything).

I have the V8 with the Merc/AMG M177 engine so I'm also way less concerned about maintenance and reliability given its history. I know the V12 has more soul and sounds better, but I also know the Merc engine is fantastic, lighter, and almost as powerful.

^^^ Dang, what a deal! 😍I'm a long-time, die-hard BMW and Porsche fan (have owned lots of both, mostly the older stuff, including M-model BMWs, and some newer models) and cannot understand why anyone would choose a Porsche 911 PDK car or a new M8 over something like this, unless all you wanted to do was track time.

Does the DB11 start in a certain default driving mode? GT, Sport, or Sport +

Yes it always starts in GT regardless of what you were driving before shutdown. There is a "quiet start" mode ifyou hold down the start button for 3 or 4 seconds, but its still loud!

Thanks for all the great info. What are your thoughts on ceramic tint and ceramic paint coating?

I'd highly recommend a ceramic coating. I put one on my Porsche about a year before I switched to my V8V, and it looked better than new ones. I plan to do the same with my Toro Red V8V.
