I found a second hand carbon fiber front lip for my '15 V8VGT locally - some kid that worked as a porter at a local exotic car dealer brought it home as a take off that was going into the dumpster...
It does have some deep abrasion on the driver side corner tip that will be difficult to make perfect.
The lighting makes it appear much worse, of course.
And finally, there is a crack in the clearcoat, exactly in middle, on the top face of the lower, most prominent area.
This was a very inexpensive purchase... so I'd like to do a repair on it. Realizing, of course, the corner tip is worn through the fiber I can't do much with this at home at the moment. I would, however, like to sort out the crack in the clearcoat. Has anyone had success with home repairs like this? Having spent a former life building very expensive wood instruments I'm less challenged by the finishing aspect, but perhaps more the uncertainty of the finishing chemistry after reading about compatibility issues with finishes... Any insight is appreciated.
Thanks.
