2011 Vantage S key problem

I have had great advice on this site, and now I am coming to you again! Last summer, my car stalled at a traffic light. I pulled the key out and pushed it in again. Probably 20 times. No lights on the dash. Eventually, it started and has been fine until this week.

I was at a friend's shop to replace the front lip and get a small blemish painted. I was helping them set the pads on the lift with my aluminium blocks and had to move the car back a few inches. Push in the key and nothing. Same deal. Push it in numerous times and finally started.

I want to get this working right before I calling a tow truck. Thanks

i had this same issue, 2013 V8V SS2

i got stranded at a winery and had to leave it there overnight and uber to my hotel (best possible place to get stranded as it was locked inside the vineyard lol)

it started again next morning - but before that I had the same issue, would need to push the key in 20-30x before it would start the car. It was even worse after I had driven a while and the engine was warm.

it ended up being a faulty ignition module that was solved with a credit card payment of $2500 to my local AM dealer

Bamford Rose has a video yesterday about electrical and starting issue due to tracker, he mentioned that all Aston Martin has a tracker and eventhough it is not being use by most people it is there and it will fail and when it fail you will have a no engine start permanently until you get that tracker disconnected and tell the body ecu that it is not present (that has to be done with the AMDS computer)... Have a look as Bamford Rose latest video, good luck

It's your ignition module. Had the same problem on my 2012 V12 Vantage....always finally started, never left me stranded.
Replaced under warranty.
Thanks,
JH

I bought a '15 V8V GT last fall - at some point in the first month in my possession the clutch switch either came loose or the mount was bent and I found unless I gave an extra firm push to the floor my car wouldn't start. I had many instances of no start until I figured this out.
While I've got the car up on a lift installing a new exhaust system I may address this issue...

As @eholster mentioned, others have had problems with the clutch switch. However my problem was failure of the docking station itself. You can see my experience in this post: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...on-switch.html

Let us know how you get on.

Cheers
