Buying cars remotely is difficult, but this does sound like piston slap to me. Looking for those who know exactly what it sounds like on these cars

 

Doesn’t sound right to me, but also doesn’t sound like any of the engines I’ve heard with the dreaded ‘tick’.

 

2006, I wouldn't buy it with any engine noise present. Especially remote and not hearing it in person.

 

Yes it is a 2006. Sounds like valves or something. Hard to tell what's normal and what's not.

 

Can't buy long distance and have confidence. Keep looking is my advice. Your new to you Aston is out there!

Plus, I do not hear any odd sounds other than the injectors ticking, and the video is to short to really get a good listen.

The "dreaded tick" could be either piston slap or small end bearing wear. The last one BR rebuilt and made a video on appeared to have the latter. It's most clearly heard from the underside of the car. This sounds like it could be it, but the normal top end engine noises tend to mask the tick. If you can get a video of someone hold a phone or camera near the bottom of the driver's side door, that might help. Here is what my ticking DB9 sounds like for reference. It's a bit louder in the video than in real life.
