How accessible is the fun in a 4.7l Vantage?
IME, a lower ride height generates a stronger sense of speed.
i.e. an airplane at 30,000 feet traveling at 600mph gives one little sense of speed WRT the ground. put that same person in a car at the same speed and the sense of speed is,let's say, significant. i suspect it involves the lower angle of incidence. anyway, the vantage pilot sits very close to the ground compared to most cars, even most sports cars. i find myself often traveling at 5 to 10 mph slower than the surrounding traffic and still maintaining a normal sense of speed. it's possible that a steady diet of riding a motorcycle and driving a pickup truck for about 20 years has affected my judgement somewhat.

Compared to a Miata, I've had both NA and NBs, and the Elise, the Vantage feels every bit it's weight. My Vantage has the sport package suspension, which does make a big difference. The Vantage can hustle, and the feedback through the steering and chassis are great for a car with big wheels and lots of mass to move around. It's got a really nice weight distribution, low and centralized, so the car is very neutral and controllable. Unfortunately the sight lines let the car down. You can't see any of the corners of the car and it makes it that much harder to place. It feels bigger than it should because of it. It's not until you push it on a twisty road that you realize that it's a great sports car, not just a GT. Despite the poor visibility, the car shrinks around you and not only has the great feedback but also has immediate input response. It's the toss-ability that pales in comparison to a light weight car. The lighter cars are playful, happier to change direction or make little corrections during a corner. The feedback from the lighter cars is superior. They also have smaller dimensions and far better visibility. The Elise, with it's almost central (side to side) driving position and that panoramic view over the protruding from fenders is absolutely perfect for getting to work. The Miata's view is not as dramatic, but still excellent. It's central (Front to rear) driving position and small size also make it really easy to place. I've had wider and more narrow tires on the Miatas. They're better driver's cars with the more narrow tires, more eager to change direction, less tramlining, better road feel, and generally more playful. Light weight is the key to a fun car.

I can't speak for the Lambo, but I came from a heavily modifed 996 Turbo. It was scary fast and extremely well planted. But I found I couldn't really use the speed that was available without seriously breaking the law or occasional track days. I found the Vantage and it hit the sweet spot for me. First it's drop dead gorgeous, and pretty rare as well. Behind the wheel I'd call it a very high feel, driver engaged car. It's mostly analogue like the TT was, but this car is easier to toss around somehow. I have to be more aware of the RPM's than I did in the TT to get useful power, but its just more engaging and fun to drive than my previous cars. Maybe my 996 C2 was closer but that is mostly because it only weighed 3,000 lbs.
Since you're keeping the Lambo you won't miss have crazy power available. I did some exhaust mods and a tune and probably gained about 30HP overall; it's very noticeable and recommended.
