Radio transmitter stays on at all times
At the suggestion of a post here, I got the following radio transmitter with excellent results :

I have it plugged in the port under the armrest and for clarity of sound, I connected it to the AUX.
Unfortunately, it stays on after the car is turned off and I am concern that I will forget it on ( which has happened few times). Someone had mentioned connecting it to a fuse so that it turns on and off with the car.
Any input on that ? Thanks a lot !

in general, 12v outlets in automobiles are fused for safety purposes whether or not they are switched on and off by the ignition key. the one in the ashtray of my 2007 vantage is always on and is fused. i'm not sure about the second one in the trunk, but my suspicion is that it is wired similarly to the one in the cabin. most smart appliances, like most fm transmitters, need a constant power source (a battery of their own or external source) to maintain their settings. the draw on an automobile's battery sources from that fm transmitter most likely pales in comparison to the many settings being maintained by the rest of the electronic conveniences on modern cars.
FYI, when i installed bluetooth support device (a MR12VOLT) it recommended that the power source be constant. as a consequence i connected it to the wires into and out of the cabin's cigarette lighter 12v outlet.
