Exclamation Analog clock woes - Hard reset needed?

Hi all. Still learning my way around this beast...

So, I went to change the analog clock on my '09 Vantage for the time shift here in the US. Used the menu settings to change the time. The clock hands didn't move an iota. Tried setting the clock 12 hours out of phase. Clock hands didn't move. It keeps time just fine, but now seems to be refusing to set.

So, looked around and found a thread suggesting that a "hard reset" was in order by disconnecting the battery terminals, then connecting the leads together for a minute to discharge any capacitors, then re-connecting the battery.

Considering all of the warnings I've seen NOT to let the battery go dead on these cars, this has me a bit worried.

Other than making darn sure my car door is open, are there any precautions I should take, and what unintended consequences can I expect from this operation? Windows and seats going wonky? Anything else possibly going awry?

Don't do it! Disconnect of the battery to right the clock will do more harm than good. Dealer visit required for the mirror fold on lock and loss of the misfire corrections and emissions monitoring if you require a current smog test.

The clock on my Rapide runs fast and the dealer has an easy way of adjusting it somehow. I just have them reset it whenever it's in for service.

I would certainly like to hear how they do it. It seems a shame we can't take care of such a simple procedure ourselves.

Does anybody know what fuse goes with the clock?

I'm thinking that if disconnecting the battery resets it, then maybe taking out the fuse for a bit might do the same.

I had a look in the manual, but they don't specifically state which fuse goes with the clock.

According to a thread on PistonHeads about this same issue, it's cabin fuse 56.

So if I get the time, I'll give that a try today sometime and report back.

What the dealer does is unplug the wiring harness to the center console, plug it back it, and do something with the Aston Martin computer to reset it. Once GPS resets, it sets the clock time. Since each has their own "movement", they start to diverge as time goes on.
