Bay area PPI help...
Bay area PPI help...
Hello Everyone,
First post ,looking for advice/help...
I am looking to buy used Vantage ,I am in Los Angeles and the car is in the east bay.
Been talking with the seller for few days now and it seems like he is not willing to drive over for a PPI.
He is willing to have the car checked on site but since he is an 1-1.5 hour away from the dealer he is not willing to make a 2-3 hour trip.
Anyone knows a mobile mechanic that is equipped to do a PPI onsite?
Appreciate any advice/help
Cheers!

HI J,
Thanks for the advice, this will be my first time buying an Aston.
Is it common for the seller to meet up with the buyer at the dealer for a PPI?

I assumed that's how it's supposed to be...
Thank you.
If buyer is paying for PPI and seller is not willing to have PPI done...I'd walk also.
When I sold my V12 Vantage, buyer (from Miami) and myself (RI) arranged for buyer paid PPI at Miller Motors.
This proved to be a great selling point for me when the PPI revealed no issues other than normal wear/tear.
Too many stories of new Aston owners getting hit with big initial repairs which could have been avoided or negotiated into the selling price.
Thanks,
JH

Without a PPI it looks like I will have to pass,if there's anyone here from the Bay area that can direct me where I can get a PPI done in the East Bay area that would be greatly appreciated.
I checked with a dealer in Walnut Creek and was told they no longer offer that service, they now offer a "safety check" only.
It seems like my only option is a onsite PPI of some sort or an indy shop in the East bay that is closer to the seller.
Thanks to everyone that replied.

The only east bay dealer option for Aston service is Walnut Creek Aston Martin.
Depending on where in the east bay the seller is located, he can go to Marin county to J&G automotive or if he is on the other side he can go to Roselli's foreign car service in San Jose.
Both were excellent with my car and reasonable with prices.
The east bay is pretty large. Berkeley people can use the Marin location and Dublin folks can drive to San Jose.
As someone else stated, Peninsula European is excellent and would make sense for someone coming from Oakland/Alameda/Fremont.
Good luck.

I have talked with Robbie @ peninsula sounds like a true gentleman and my plan was to bring the car to his shop but unfortunately the seller is not willing to drive to Robbie's shop because it's an hour away from him.
So San Jose is out of the question as well...
I also called Aston in walnut creek they were the ones that told me they no longer do PPI they only offer" safety check "
I will call them again tomorrow maybe I misunderstood the guy who answered the phone.
Just want to say thank you to everyone 👍

i've had some work done on my 2007 vantage at a shop about 800 yds north of the aston dealership in walnut creek. seemed competent and have expertise in english sports cars, especially jaguars. it's called "Joe's Foreign Automotive". nice guy.
One last option: the jaguar dealership in Walnut Creek. Their service department is in a different location a few miles away. They used to be an aston dealer and (still?) employ an Aston tech.
